Back in 1933, Wilhelm Nusser started a company (Wilhelm Nusser GmbH & Co.) to build schools, office buildings and houses employing the wood frame construction principle.

Early on in the development of the company, towns nearby had a demand for park benches as part of newly created public spaces and recreational areas. That is when NUSSER started to build outdoor park benches on an industrial level.

Today NUSSER consists of a group of companies involved in the building of schools, office buildings, industrial buildings and houses. (www.nusser.de).

Innovation and quality thinking are the foundations of all business activities. A philosophy which convinced many NUSSER customers in all business areas.

For many years, continuously new types of benches were developped, designed and presented. Over the years the product range has been extended with new designs, colors and materials.

In 2000 the business line of garden- and landscape-benches was transferred in a separate company, the JWS Nusser GmbH & Co. KG. With moving to Max-Eyth-Straße 33 new modern rooms could be obtained.

Through acquisitions the NUSSER-group grew increasingly.
2002 the companies BECK (Ostfildern-Kemnat) and ef REINMUTH (Bad Wimpfen) were
acquired. Both companies moved to Winnenden. With BECK the litterbin- and bicyclestands-program could be expanded with modern and design-oriented products. ef REINMUTH completed the bench division. 2009 ef REINMUTH was integrated in NUSSER.

2006 the group expanded and Penny GmbH & Co. KG in Friesenhagen became member. Roundbenches and classic benches were and are the main business of PENNY. The company merged with NUSSER in October 2011 and at the same time NUSSER was renamed Nusser Stadtmöbel GmbH & Co. KG. The site Friesenhagen became a pure manufacturing establishment (plant II). The distribution was concentrated in Winnenden.

2014 there was a further expansion. The ODM Stadtmöbel GmbH & Co. KG in Mosbach became a member of the NUSSER group. With ODM the range of street furniture made of steel and stainless steel could be expanded. ODM products are manufactured in Mosbach and distributed from there.

In the fall of 2014 the construction of a new factory building in Waldbröl began. In April 2015 the plant II has moved from Friesenhagen to Waldbröl and continued production with a new machinery in new and bright rooms.

In 2015 the NUSSER-group became international. The company STAUSBERG in Austria joined the group. Under the company named Stausberg Stadtmöbel GmbH the business of the old company Stausberg Vertriebs-GmbH is being continued and extended to the products of sister companies. STAUSBERG is one of the leading manufacturers of street furniture in Austria. More information at www.stausberg.at.
